Sustainability

At TipTop Media we aim not just to meet your expectations, we exceed them, while making the least possible impact on our planet

Our commitment to the environment

We believe everyone has a responsibility to take care of our planet.

We are committed to cutting our carbon footprint and are keen to help our customers to do the same, by ensuring our business has as little impact on the environment as possible.

As a Carbon Neutral business, we have already made much headway, but this is just the start!

We are continuously looking for ways to improve the service we offer, while boosting our green credentials.

It all adds up

TipTop Media is Green Small Business Certified. To achieve this accreditation, we took an in depth look at every part of our business, assessing our current environmental impact and considering how we could reduce our carbon footprint in the future.

Currently our business creates a carbon footprint equal to around 9.4 metric tonnes of CO2 a year. We generate 3.1 tonnes of CO2 per employee, which is well below the average of 11.75 tonnes per employee for businesses similar to ours.

Although we are really proud of the achievements we have made, we continue to look at further ways we can improve in the future.

For example, we are now taking a more planned approach when we need to deliver and pick up items from our customers, grouping trips together where possible to reduce the number of van journeys we make and using public transport where appropriate.

And, as part of our work to offset the carbon we produce, we are part of a tree buddying scheme, planting ten trees a year in south east England.

How we can help you

Now that companies are required by law to manage their environmental impact, our recycling services for confidential paper, tapes, film and hard drives have never been more important.

Sustainability is at the heart of everything we do. Not only can you rely on us to safely shred or destroy your old media items, we will then recycle every element possible:

  • All confidential paper is shredded and recycled.
  • Tape and film can be disposed of with little to no environmental impact. The items are incinerated, in turn creating green energy which is used to power the recycling plant, as well as being fed to the national grid. The by-product left behind can also be used in road and building aggregates.
  • Once we have securely crushed your hard drive it will be shredded and the resulting plastic and metal will then be recycled.

You will be given a destruction certificate and waste transfer note for your records, so you can be confident that the work has been carried out correctly and professionally.
