Media Storage Solutions

TipTop Media Management is a provider of offsite media storage just outside central London. Predominantly serving the broadcast industry, we count a range of businesses among our clientele. Our facilities have strict humidity and temperature control to maintain the pristine condition of film, video tape and other items.

Secure, accessible media storage

We can quickly access your film and tape (no mean feat considering we have over 100,000 items currently in storage). Every item is barcoded and either stored in rollable racks or in client numbered boxes.

We have our own barcode system and client-accessible database, or we can label your film and tape in accordance with your own filing and retrieval system. You will have a unique client log-in to our secure database, enabling you to search for items and make retrieval requests 24 hours a day.

Tape & Film Storage

Many different companies, from film production to advertising agencies and IT, require safe, accessible storage for media tapes and film. Stockpiling historic tape and film in boxes in a corner of your office looks unsightly, takes up space and is not recommended as they require storage in a secure environment, away from the elements so they will not deteriorate or lose their original condition.

Benefits of media storage

With a vast storage area for private clients, production companies and others in the broadcasting and IT industry, tapes and film are:

  • Carefully catalogued
  • Safe from the elements
  • Fully confidential
  • Secured around the clock
  • Easily accessible
  • Collected for FREE*

TipTop Media can arrange convenient collection of your items for low cost storage in an environment which is accessible and secure. For safer protection, archive boxes, bubble wrap and tape can all be supplied prior to collection or receipt.

* The initial collection is usually chargeable unless otherwise agreed. On-going collections are usually free unless they require 2 persons to be available or the items cannot fit in our van. To ensure the health and safety of our customers and drivers are protected at all times additional charges may also be incurred where extra work or time is incurred in the course of the collection.

What is a database?

A database is a program in which data is stored. The data within the database could be anything the user wanted to have a record of. When used in this context, we would be referring to digital records of documents. The database acts as a central hub for the documets generally storing specific data fields such as title, document number and whether it is on-site or off-site. Those are the fundamental pieces to a database library system.
